International Sales Manager – Far East

JOB TITLE:      International Sales Manager- Far East

SALARY:          Competitive (Includes OTE)

HOURS:            37 ½ hours per wk – Mon – Thurs 0815 – 1700/ Fri 0815 – 1245

TYPE:              Perm role

TRAVEL:          No restrictions to travel internationally as and when required

LOCATION:       Hybrid working – (You must live and have the right to work in the UK. Plus, be able to travel to our office in Norwich (NR7) at least two – three times a week when in the UK)

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an ambitious and driven International Sales Manager to join our Business Development team.  In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing International Business Development activities in the Far East.  You will manage existing relationships with customers, representatives and develop new business opportunities in adjacent markets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in international sales and a deep understanding of global market trends and cultural sensitivities.  Additionally, you will collaborate with internal teams, (for example marketing, engineering, project management) to ensure that our offerings meet the needs of our diverse customers.  This challenging position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will directly influence our international presence.

The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver yearly profitable order intake to an agreed target
  • Manage the agent network in the region, maintaining effective documentation, managing existing relationships and identifying new representatives
  • Ensuring all activities, relationships and orders are within company, national and international guidelines and legislation with particular reference to the Bribery and Anti-Corruption Act and Export Control
  • Identify prime contractors, shipyards and other OEMs to partner, subcontract or contract with to deliver additional value
  • Liaise with the BD and Engineering team to provide expert advice and requirements capture
  • Working with the BD Director and Senior Military Advisor to ensure a comprehensive cover is provided to military and government interactions
  • To work on tasks directed by the Managing Director and Business Development Director in support of the Business Strategic Plan
  • Attend relevant Exhibitions.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

To be a successful candidate for this role you must be able to demonstrate the below attributes and skillsets:

  • Qualified to Level 3 standard (A Levels or equivalent)
  • Significant demonstrable success in leading capture teams developing, managing, leading and winning significant sales campaigns and product sales within the defence, aerospace or other comparable sectors
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of international markets and cultural differences in business practices
  • Demonstrated strong Customer and Stakeholder relationship skills
  • Knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures
  • Strong leadership, motivational skills and a capacity to overcome barriers and enact change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced and confident in managing risk and opportunity
  • A willingness to learn and develop with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Self-starter willing to work independently and within a team
  • Willingness to take ownership of the roles and responsibilities

  • Compressed working hours Monday – Thursday 0815 – 1700/ Friday 0815 – 1245 **Half day Fridays**
